The temperature on the Valley of Flowers trek is usually between 5 and 20 degrees celsius moderate rainfall even during the trek and the valley usually has thick cloud cover. The hardest part of the trek is the ascent to Hemkund Sahib on the last day, where we cover an altitude of around 1,300 feet in one day and that can be a bit tiring.

How to reach

By Air: The nearest Airport to the Valley of flowers is Jolly Grant Airport however the roads are only connected till Govindghat from where you have to start the trek which fakes 16 kms to reach the Valley of flowers. The distance of Valley if clowers from Jolly Grant Airport is 292 kms and the airport is well connected to all the major cities of India. Public transport, that is taxis are easily accessible from the airport. Helicopter services are available to the Valley of flowers. The services are available from Govindghat to Ghangaria. Helicopter will drop you to the helipad ground at Ghangaria.

By Rail: The nearest railway station to the Valley of flowers is Ristreksh however it is up to Govindghat from here you have to start the trek and will take 16 kms to reach. It will take 273 kms to reach Govindghat from Ristreksh railway station and the railway station is well connected to major cities of India.

By Road: The Valley of flowers is connected only till Pulna village which takes 4 kms from Govind ghat. From here you have to start the trek and will take 13 kms to reach the valley of flowers. Govindghat is well connected by road with major cities of Uttarakhand state. Buses are available from Haridwar, Srinagar, Ristreksh from ISBT Kashmiri. Public transportation like Taxis and Buses are available.

Best time to visit

The entrance to the Valley of Flowers opens daily at 7:00 am and the last entry is allowed until 2:00 pm. It should start again around 1 pm. and return at 5:00 pm. The valley of flowers is beautiful in the months of May, June and September. The most preferred months are the maximum number of flowers in July and August.

Level of difficulty

The trek is not that difficult, the valley of the flower trek is well defined and well paved, although steep in many places, but other than the day you do the trek into the valley yourself, you can hire a pony to do it Level to reduce the difficulty of the trek.
