Who was the first president of Russia?
Boris Yeltsin: He was born in year 1931 and after his graduation he worked for a long time in Sverdlovsk region. He was an active member of the Soviet communist party and held the office of the construction department of the party in Moscow. In 1989, he got more than 80% vote in the first elections of Russia and elected as Soviet people’s deputy. In 1991, he was elected as first president of Russia. In 1996, he was re – elected as president, but he resigned from the post in year 1999. He died in 2007 from a heart attack.
Vladimir Putin: Putin is the current president of Russia. He was born in 1952. He is a law graduate from the Leningrad State university. He also holds a Ph. D degree in economics. Initially, he worked in Germany for few years. He also worked in Leningrad State university as assistant rector. Later he started acquiring the managerial positions and in 1994, he become the first Deputy Mayor. In 1998, he got the promotion as the head of presidential administration. He was appointed as prime minister of Russia in 1999. In year 2000, he was elected as president of Russia. In was reelected as president in 2004. In 2008, he was again selected as Prime Minister and in 2012, he got the seat of president, once again. In March 2018, he was re-elected as Russian president.
Dmitry Medvedev: Dmitry was born in 1965 and graduated in law form the Leningrad State university in 1987. He has a Ph.D. degree in Law and worked as lecturer at St Petersburg State university from 1990 to 1999. During the same period, he was also working as the adviser to the Leningrad city council. In 1999, he started working as deputy government chief of Staff and in 2000, he was promoted as the first deputy chief of staff of the presidential executive office. In 2005, he was appointed as first deputy prime minister of Russia and in 2008, he was elected the president of Russia. Since year 2012, he is working as the Prime Minister of the country.
