Quinoa in Russian

“Quinoa” means “киноа” (“kinoa”) in Russian. You should put the stress on the second syllable. Quinoa groats are a pseudocereal. It doesn’t consist of gluten. It’s not widely known in Russia. The original Russian groats are rye, barley, oat, buckwheat and others. Quinoa is popular with vegetarians, raw food aficionados and the individuals who lead a healthy lifestyle. Mostly the young like quinoa. Since this type of groats is not so popular in Russia, you can get it in vegan shops and restaurants.
