Money in Russian

“Money” is “деньги” (“den’gi”) in Russian. There are a lot of slang versions of this word. You can ask your friend and even your colleague in a friendly way “Did you get that money?”. It means “Ты получил денежку?” (“Ty poluchil denezhku?”). In the case of a colleague, you can ask it instead of ”Did you get a paycheck?”. The word “денежка” (“denezhka”) has a diminutive-hypocoristic suffix. A slang word for “деньги” is “бабло” (“bablo”). It’s appropriate to use it with your buddies. Some public figures use it while speaking in front of an audience to be on friendly terms with it.
