“Eggs” means “яица” (“yaitsa”). It’s a plural form of the noun “яйцо” (“yaitso”). The School Etymological Russian Dictionary says that the word “яйцо” (“yaitso”) is a derivative from “jaje”. This form is used in some Slavic languages. The Latin word “avis” which means a “bird” (“ptitsa”) and “jaje” have the same root. “Yaitso” literally means a “bird’s embryo”.
