Colors in Russian: white, black, blue, green, red, orange, purple, brown, grey, yellow

“White“ is “beliy”, “black” is “chyorniy”, “blue” is “ciniy” or “goluboy”, “green” is “zelyoniy”, “red” is “krasniy”, “orange” is “oranzheviy”, “purple” is “fioletoviy”, “brown” is “korichneviy”, “grey” is “seriy”, “yellow” is “zhyoltiy” in Russian.

The interesting thing is that the English use the word “blue” to define two colours which are sky-blue and dark blue and in Russian we have two words for that.
